1960 Cadillac Coupe Deville
"Rosie"
I bought this '60 Coupe in December '09, along with a '60 Cadillac Flat Top, and sold her in Feb '13.
Rosie came into my life as a satin black worn out mild kustom with a busted engine. The original plan was to do a "simple" motor swap and put the Flat Top's motor in Rosie, but I didn't have the heart to destroy the Flat Top. Instead, with lots of help from the Rocket Motors crew, we tore down Rosie's engine and another '60 engine in the Rocket Motors inventory. Over the next few months, working once a week, a few hours at a time, we rebuilt the original block and dropped it in. After all that work, she was ready to hit the streets, or so I thought...

Rosie took years of breakdowns and agony to get her dialed in and driveable. She was as wicked as she looked, and between the brakes failing going down the expressway, and the gas tank falling out while driving. When she wasn't trying to outright kill me, she had persistent stalling/vapor lock issues that would strike without warning, along with constant minor issues. She took tons of effort to keep going, kept me living from paycheck to paycheck, saw girlfriends come and go, bothered the neighbors and was coolest thing I had ever driven! Despite the daily horrors, she was irresistible.
Once I finally tamed her into my around town cruiser and head-turner, I decided to overhaul her image. Under the sinister satin black and silver, Rosie was actually a factory pink car, hence the name Rosie. I got together with a friend and we spend a few days sanding and prepping her, and brought her down to the paint booth. She came out in beautiful Persian Sand with an Ivory white roof, accented with fresh whitewall tires. It was a stunning visual change, but she kept her straight pipes, shaved door handles and nasty attitude. Shortly after paint, in Feb 2013, I sold her to a Formula 1 driver in northern California.
On 5/3/15, Rosie was spotted by the Rocket Motors crew out in Sonoma.
