1959 Borgward Isabella Coupe
I'll be completely honest - I had never even heard of these cars until this one was posted for sale near me in July 2022. I learned that Borgward was a German auto maker that went out of business in the mid 1960s. This particular car was sold in San Jose, CA and used as a family car until around 1970 when it was parked in grandma's garage, then around 2005 moved to an outdoor storage facility. When I picked it up, it was in rough condition - destroyed interior, surface rust, large dents, destroyed tires, and dragging brakes.
After two tries, I was able to extract the Borgward from its longtime parking spot, and winch it up on my trailer. To make the car more mobile, I found a cheap set of used tires to put on. The Borgward was then moved to storage, waiting for a few other projects to wrap up first...
