1978 Chevrolet Corvette
I bought this silver 25th Anniversary Special Corvette in December 2013 and traded it in April 2014. I went over to visit my friends at Rocket Motors and saw this beauty sitting in their shop. They had just picked it up, got it running and cleaned and detailed and were planning to sell it. It was too beautiful for me not to buy, and I figured I hadn't had a Corvette yet, so I scooped it up.
The body and interior were in great shape and the car seemed to run well, though '78 wasn't the fastest year for Vettes. Because the car had been sitting, the rear brakes started to leak a few days later, but luckily not while I was driving. After some fresh calipers, fixing several vacuum leaks, and replacing a heater hose, she was ready to rock!
I drove her for a few months, but ultimately she was in such good shape, it was too stressful having to be careful with her all the time! I put her up for sale and brought her to an all-Corvette swap meet. At the end of the day, I got an offer to trade for a 1970 Challenger and I accepted. A couple weeks later we made the trade and the Corvette went to her new home, sharing a garage with two other Corvettes.
